Weezer are currently on tour. Not to support their latest album, but to play their first two. All the tracks, in order.
When Weezer released the Blue Album I remember loving everthing about the band and their music.
When they released their follow up Pinkerton I remember loving the whole album, every single track.
I remember one party when friend EH (who can be a tad anal at times) pointed out that since Pinkerton is such a great album, and harder than the debut, the debut is no longer any good. At least not good enough to listen to. And the fact is, I have a hard time listening to tacks like Buddy Holly, but I still enjoy Pinkerton as a whole. The first chords of the first track of Pinkerton (Tired of sex) make a different statement about the band and their attitude.
Buddy Holly:
Tired of Sex

And is it for the same reasons EH can't stand REM's Monster?
ReplyDeleteNever quite figured that one out. Not sure if Monster is worth the effort.
