Ran into old friend AL at a shushi bar. Told my initial company that AL impressed me greatly way back by correctly identifying the producer of albums he previously had not heard... Pretty impressive, even if AL is a producer himself and sits around all day tweaking knobs on his virtual mixing board.
(It turns out he can now also identify what microphone was used for a specific recording. According to himself, anyway.)
Anyway, I asked him if he had heard anthing interesting lately, and he pointed me in the direction of Koop - basically jazz mixed with hip-hop and dance (according to AllMusic).
